I’m getting a lot of questions about Ube and what it tastes like and wanted to talk about it here since you will be seeing more of it now that I’ve got my hands on some keto-friendly Ube concentrates and extracts! 💜
Pronounced, “ooh-bay,” Ube is a purple yam with a deep purple color, which makes for a fun, bright donut, cookie or ice cream. It’s also a staple in Philippines cuisine, especially desserts. I grew up eating ube and have been trying to think of how to explain what it tastes like… It kind of has a subtle vanilla flavor, with the slight nuttiness of a pistachio?
